Winter Softball Clinics for 6U through 14U - January & February 2026

Come to the Medford High School batting cages, and get some work in. Perfect time for new players to come and try it out!

We also encourage you to bring a friend who may be interested in playing softball this spring! Friends who are not already registered for Spring 2026 softball may attend for free through February 1st. Please indicate that you are bringing a friend during the registration checkout process or email [email protected]. All equipment will be provided.

Schedule
Starting Saturday, January 10th through Saturday, February 28th workshops will run according to the schedule below.
Saturdays, January 10th through February 28th
12:15pm-1:20pm: 12U & 14U
1:30-2:20pm: 6U & 8U
2:30pm-3:20pm: 10U

Tuesdays, January 13th through February 24th
Pitching and Catching Clinics: 8U & 12U (pitchers need to bring their own catchers)

Thursdays, January 15th through February 26th
Pitching and Catching Clinics: 12U & 14U (pitchers need to bring their own catchers)

What to bring:
1.) WATER (Remember, it will be warm in the cages - most girls are comfortable in t-shirt and shorts)
2.) Bat, Helmet, Glove, Fielder's mask

If you do not yet have equipment, we will do our best to provide for you. Please indicate what you need on the registration page.

How to get there:
Coming into the MHS parking lot, follow the signs for the Pool entrance. Enter at the Pool entrance, and go directly up the stairs to the batting cages.

2026 MYGS Spring Softball: 10U, 12U, and 14U

Spring 2026 Softball for Medford (Massachusetts) Youth Girls Softball

Age Eligibility:
Beginning 2025 fall season, a player's age as of August 31st determines the division in which the player is eligible to play the following year. Please refer to the USA Softball Code Age Eligibility Chart to determine which age your team/player is eligible to participate. Our registration system will automatically place the player in the correct division.

Medford Softball welcomes players from surrounding communities when space allows. Please note that placement on a Medford team cannot be guaranteed for new out-of-town players until registration is closed. In accordance with City/Town League guidelines, players are expected to participate in their home community’s program if their town offers one. We appreciate your understanding and continued support of community-based youth sports.

Structure:
  • 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions will be playing in the City-Town league, which includes teams from Arlington, Winchester, Charlestown, Watertown, Waltham, and possibly other locations.
  • Typically, teams meet three times per week for practices and games.
  • 10U games will have umpires and after 4 balls to the batter the coach will pitch.
  • 10U and 12U games start at 6pm, although players are asked to be there 5:15pm or 5:30pm.
  • 12U and 14U will have umpires and player pitched
  • 10U Games will be on Mondays and Wednesdays
  • 12U Games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • 14U may have some weekend games, and will start at 7pm when possible. Medford home games will be at 7pm at Columbus Field.

Select Team:
  • Select Team is an opportunity for your player in 10U or 12U to play at a higher level of competition through City/Town league.
  • Games will be on Friday evenings for both 10U and 12U, and will not conflict with regular season games.
  • If you want your player to be considered for Select Teams, please choose this when you check out through registration.

Uniform:
  • For 10U and older players, uniform is NOT included in this registration process.
  • After registration is complete, an email will be sent to you at a later point regarding ordering jerseys. Jersey costs are $33.95 each at our providers website: https://teamlocker.squadlocker.com/#/lockers/mygs-apparel
  • The order to delivery may take up to 2 weeks.
  • Black softball pants can be purchased anywhere if your player likes a certain brand or fit. 

Evaluations (10U and 12U only):
  • Evaluations for 10U and 12U will be on March 7th. More details will be sent out to registered players.
